Smart Navigator is a hybrid intelligence-powered algorithmic decision system with an emphasis on high-tech privacy-preserving solutions and accuracy. Hybrid intelligence refers to perfect amalgam of human intelligence and artificial intelligence. With this project, the special focus will be on firstly, developing a novel approach and system architecture by integrating human and machine components to generate a unique hybrid intelligence approach.

SafeMode US expansion

ABOUT

SafeMode offers behavior-based software to help fleet operators become profitable and safer by engaging and rewarding their drivers. It revolutionized fleets and drivers' relationships by shifting the focus to the driver with incentives, compensations, and recognition for proper driving style. The project will focus on product-market fit including validating the need and usability of the SafeMode technology at the US market.

Ido is the founder and CEO of SafeMode, developing a unique Driver-engagement platform to engage and reward fleet drivers. Ido has more than ten years of experience in the leading innovative teams; prior to SafeMode, Ido served in the IDF as an officer ranked as a captain in the Israeli counter-terrorism unit developed out of the box solution and products in challenging environments.

ABOUT

The core elements of HEALTHYMITY: AI (computer vision) / Federated learning / Situation awareness, reasoning and decision support techniques. Our research group aims at making use of a large amount of multi-modal data coming from electronic health records, cameras, and medical devices to develop the artificial intelligence systems that can assist clinicians and staff in the medical workflow.

Dr. Igor Kotsiuba has served for more than a decade in industry and academia and has completed numerous transnational projects with leading players in Cybersecurity and Industrial IoT. Dr. Kotsiuba is a counsellor in government and industry and founder at cybersecurity agency iSolutions and established a digital forensics lab in Ukraine to build capacity and restore the rule of law in cyberspace.

PROJECT TITLE
Utilizing 5G and Edge Computing to accelerate adoption of XR (AR/VR) technologies

ABOUT

Current AR/VR (XR) devices are caught in the triangle of cost, form factor, and image quality. Improving one dimension requires sacrifices in all others. This hinders the mass market adoption of XR technologies. QuarkXR bridges powerful Edge Computing with mobile XR devices. We utilize the Edge GPUs to render XR applications and stream the output to mobile devices over 5G and other networks. This approach removes friction, reduces price, and facilitates Mass Adoption of XR.

ABOUT

The main purpose is promoting, testing and validating in the US market in general, and in the US Node in particular, Nebulous Systems’ cross-cutting solutions that allow the advantages of IoT to be brought to educational and research contexts, with the security and privacy measures they need, and which are not generally considered in IoT devices and cyber-physical systems.

Luis de la Torre is a Professor at the Computer Science and Automatic Control Department, UNED and co-Founder of Nebulous Systems, a company that provides IoT solutions for research, education and smart contexts. de la Torre received the M.Sc. degree in physics from the Complutense University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from UNED, Madrid.

NGI promises new technological solutions to ensure efficient online information exchange. The aim of the project is to investigate how the emerging VR-based communication technologies through its capacity to deliver strong sense presence and embodiment for discussion participants can help in alleviating some of the major obstacles hindering effective online communication and collaboration in the NGI.

Dr. Lukasz Porwol is the E-Gov Deputy Unit Leader at the Insight, NUIG. His research focuses on leveraging digital technologies such as social media and Virtual Reality and AI to support effective communication, in the context of e- Participation and Media Convergence.

Transmit one bit the longest using the least power utilizing LoRa

ABOUT

By designing and creating a piece of hardware that can keep working for several years without maintenance, we can build the next generation of radio communication sensors. The modules will be used in Smart Cities and Smart rural areas to track parameters for agriculture, fires, earthquakes, animals' life, or citizen health problems. The main innovation will be designing a piece of hardware with optimizing payload and software to reduce the consumption of the devices and improve the coverage and range of the radio.

Eyemmersive® enables a new source of income for professional tourist guides in destinations around the globe, delivering local tourism content to extend the reach of tourism operators and provide a promotional opportunity aimed at independent travellers.
